What is a Società Benefit
A Società Benefit is an Italian legal status, introduced by Law 208/2015, for companies that commit by statute to pursue, alongside profit, one or more common-benefit goals.
It is not a label or a self-declaration. It is written into the company’s articles of association, filed with the Chamber of Commerce: a legal commitment, not a statement of intent.
Why Fàbera became one
In 2026, Fàbera became a Società Benefit. We don’t know of another fine jewellery atelier in Italy that has taken the same step.
Nothing new, really – this is how we’ve always worked: transparently, ethically, using materials of traceable and responsible origin such as Fairmined gold and certified lab-grown diamonds.
Every piece is handmade in our Florence Atelier, with the aim of passing on the quality of a jewel made by a master goldsmith.
We wrote into our statute what we were already doing.
What changes
Our statute lists four goals we’re now legally committed to, alongside profit:
– moving the goldsmithing industry towards more sustainable and ethical practices,
– passing on the craft to the next generation,
– reducing environmental impact through Fairmined gold and certified lab-grown diamonds,
– and transparency towards whoever buys from us.
Every year, we measure how we’ve done against these goals, using an external evaluation standard, and publish the results alongside our accounts. Chiara Ferri, co-founder of Fàbera Jewelry, is the appointed officer responsible for pursuing these goals, and answers for this commitment.
Our first impact report will accompany the 2026 accounts and will be published in 2027.
What doesn’t change
Nothing changes in the workshop. Fabio still makes every piece by hand, with the same materials, the same care. What changes is the extra level of accountability and transparency behind what we say and how we demonstrate it.
